Matteo Moretto gave this update on AC Milan’s incoming midfield transfer market in a video published on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel:
On Ismael Koné of Sassuolo:
“It’s a name that, because of his physical and technical characteristics, is very much liked by Massimiliano Allegri. The Rossoneri coach would like to bring into the Milan squad players who are tall, physically strong, and suited to his style of play. Koné is tall, physically strong, and good at making forward runs, so much so that he has already scored six goals this year. He has a contract with Sassuolo until 2030, and I can confirm that he is on Milan’s list as well as on Inter Milan’s. He is not the Rossoneri’s very top choice, but the club is monitoring him. Milan already know the costs of the deal. In the past, Koné had been close to joining AS Roma.”
On the rumours about Valencia's Javi Guerra:
“For two transfer windows, Guerra has been linked with Milan. He is a young player who would fit into the Rossoneri project, which also aims to develop young talent. Guerra has the characteristics Allegri likes, but he has a contract until 2029 and is not coming off a great season, also because Valencia have been struggling quite a lot this year. I would also add that there is a release clause in the contract the player signed a year ago when he was being negotiated by Milan in parallel with Jashari; then the Diavolo decided to push for Jashari and Guerra extended with Valencia. Next year Milan will try to develop Jashari. Guerra, however, is not a first choice; he is a name on the list, but not a priority. He could perhaps become one later if other targets fall through. In terms of characteristics, Koné is preferred to Guerra and would be more useful for Allegri’s Milan. As of today, there have been no contacts between Milan and Valencia, only enquiries with the Spanish midfielder’s agents to understand the conditions for a potential exit.”
