Pini Zahavi, the football agent, met with AC Milan, where they did not only discuss Robert Lewandowski, the striker whose contract with Barcelona is expiring and who is often linked with the Rossoneri, and Christopher Nkunku, who is set to leave the club after just one season, but it was also an opportunity to gather information on another of his clients who will become a free agent in the summer, namely David Alaba, the Real Madrid defender whose contract expires on 30 June.
Milan and Juventus interested:
This was reported this morning by Corriere dello Sport, which explains that Zahavi is offering the Austrian player to several top European clubs, including Milan and Juventus. After a season in which he has so far made just 14 appearances in all competitions, the player is eager to play regularly again and regain a leading role. Both Milan and Juventus have taken note of Zahavi’s proposal and will now assess Alaba: while he is a proven quality player from a technical point of view, there are doubts mainly about his physical condition, given his fairly extensive recent injury record.
Strong competition for the Austrian:
There is also strong competition for the Real Madrid defender, as the Austrian, who can play both as a centre-back and a left-back, is highly appreciated in Major League Soccer in the United States, and has several admirers in Saudi Arabia who are ready to offer him lucrative contracts. There is also the possibility of a return to Austria, with Red Bull Salzburg reportedly interested in bringing him back as a senior figure to guide many young players in the Red Bull system.
