Matteo Moretto, an expert transfer journalist, spoke on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel and provided updates on Rafael Leao’s situation. His words:
“The inconsistent performances of Leao have raised some doubts within the club and the sporting side of Milan. Since the start of the year, the club has been evaluating and trying to give Rafael a slight boost upwards in terms of trust and esteem, working towards a possible contract renewal that is not so much tied to a salary increase but rather to an extension of the contract. His agreement runs until 2028, but with spring and his performances, the whole situation has cooled down significantly: at the moment, things are at a standstill.”
Matteo Moretto continues on Leao's possible future and the summer situation:
“If an offer were to arrive in the summer, Milan would evaluate it just as they would for any other player. Leao could leave for the right price, and he also needs to understand whether his cycle at Milan is over and whether, in terms of motivation, he is ready to give more to the Rossoneri shirt. Milan will consider offers for Leao, who is certainly not untouchable.”
