After the match between AC Milan and Atalanta BC, a game that saw Raffaele Palladino’s side win 2–3, Alessandro Costacurta spoke in the Sky Sport studio to comment on the current situation and performance of Massimiliano Allegri’s team:
"This wasn’t just about today’s first half. It stems from the matches against Udinese, Juve, and Sassuolo. In my opinion, they did put in the effort as well, but you lose clarity… and this is the performance you get. They arrived out of breath at the most important moment of the season.”
Was sacking Maldini the biggest mistake of recent years? Costacurta replied:
"Even people who don’t know him realise it was a mistake. It’s obvious that many wrong decisions have been made. Paolo did a great job in those years creating a certain atmosphere, and I’m sure he did, because I know how much he cares about building the foundations for a dressing room that provides energy, positivity, and courage.”
