During the latest episode of the podcast 'Numer1' the well-known journalist Franco Ordine commented on AC Milan’s recent period and the home defeat against Atalanta. These were his words:
"You brought in Tare and Allegri, very well. If Massimiliano Allegri and Tare had done everything themselves, then today I would say: I’m sorry Tare, Allegri, you are responsible. But no. Tare and Allegri arrive, they show up at Milanello and find that Reijnders has already been sold and Ricci already bought. Then Tare adds his own touch with Jashari and Nkunku on the last day. Luckily, thanks to the dispute in Marseille, Allegri patches things up with the arrival of Rabiot. So this is the starting point. From this starting point, thinking that Milan could even compete with Inter for the Scudetto was madness."
"So today I answer the question. In my opinion, Allegri also bears some responsibility, though to a limited extent, concerning the team’s physical condition, because they reached the final stretch of the season without any fuel left. The form of some players who had carried the team for much of the first half of the season and immediately afterwards also declined. Beyond the forwards, who have contributed nothing, goalkeeper Maignan has objectively not been the Maignan of the first four or five months for the past two months. Then you had the misfortune of losing the only compass the team had, which was Modrić, and so you found yourselves in this situation."
