Dušan Vlahović and Juventus: a pact whose expiry date is set for 30 June this year, and which still does not appear close to a resolution that would allow the relationship to continue into the future.
The Serbian striker, who has returned from yet another injury and proved decisive in the two matches against Verona and Lecce, victories that temporarily secured third place in the table and allowed Juventus to overtake Milan in the race for the Champions League, remains uncertain regarding his professional future.
Will he still be at Juventus, or is a new chapter awaiting him in his career?
Here is the current situation, also according to what has been reported by Matteo Moretto: in one of the latest videos on Fabrizio Romano’s Italian YouTube channel, Moretto states that Juventus have no intention of making excessive market offers to keep Vlahović: there will be no major financial outlays, neither in terms of salary, nor commissions, nor even signing bonuses.
The 'Old Lady' is weighing up all the pros and cons of the situation, recognising the Serbian centre-forward’s technical value and importance within Spalletti’s sporting project, while at the same time questioning the striker’s overall performances and physical condition, the former Fiorentina player.
Meanwhile, as Moretto recalls, a new meeting with Vlahović is scheduled before the end of May, early reports suggest it could take place in the coming days, probably only once the Champions League objective has been achieved, if that happens, to discuss a contract extension and determine whether the player would be willing to accept certain offers under the conditions proposed by Juventus.
Was Dusan Vlahovic offered to clubs in Spain?
May could be a decisive month for Vlahović’s future, with his entourage already working very carefully in any case. According to Moretto, the Serbian striker is being offered to several top clubs across Europe. In particular, he has once again been offered in Spain to two extremely important clubs within Iberian football. The situation remains one to follow very closely.
What about AC Milan?
The rapprochement in February had seemed capable of leading to a breakthrough regarding a renewal, but that did not happen, and now Vlahović’s future appears increasingly distant from Turin, from Italy, and from Serie A. In this context, Milan must still be kept in mind, as they have been monitoring Juventus’ number 9 striker for months, as relayed via Calcio Mercato.
Much will depend on qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League, as well as on possible technical changes (first and foremost Allegri and Tare, whose futures now appear uncertain) and corporate developments (with Giorgio Furlani’s position as chief executive officer under scrutiny): only then will it become clear whether the Rossoneri will make a serious move for Vlahović.
