AC Milan are going through one of the most difficult periods of recent years. After an excellent first half of the season, finished just three points behind league leaders Inter Milan, the Rossoneri have suffered a sharp and unexpected decline in the second half of the campaign.

The team have put together a run of negative results, showing performances well below expectations and throwing away much of the good work built up in the previous months. Amid mistakes, inconsistency, and often disappointing displays, the Diavolo have slipped far away from the top positions in the table. Now, with the season entering its decisive phase, even the objective considered the club’s priority, qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League, is genuinely at risk of slipping away.
There is also uncertainty surrounding Rafael Leao. This morning, the newspaper Corriere dello Sport ran the headline: "Leao at odds with the fans. Al Hilal SFC are pushing hard, but the dream is the Premier League." After years of ups and downs, the Portuguese player’s future at the club is now seriously in doubt.
