Luca Bianchin, a journalist, expressed himself as follows in La Gazzetta dello Sport regarding the future of Igli Tare, the current sporting director of AC Milan:
"How strange it must be to live inside Igli Tare’s mind on this Sunday. Tare has spent a week hearing rumours of revolutions: ‘Everything in the club will change’, ‘Tony D’Amico will arrive’, ‘Tare and Allegri will leave’. All different, and none of them foresee his confirmation. For everyone, Tare is out, and yet Milan won their final away match of the season with his players playing leading roles. The best was Nkunku, the striker Tare signed at the end of August and who, from that moment on, has been considered by everyone to be one of his transfer mistakes. The second goal was scored by Athekame, whom Tare went to sign from Young Boys amid general astonishment. Even Ardon Jashari, the big gamble of his season, played a good match, apart from the back-pass that sent Ekhator through on goal. Funny how life works sometimes..."
"Tare has not received any official communication from the club regarding next season, and so he waits. What else could he do? However, Cardinale’s statement in Thursday’s interview will remain in everyone’s mind: ‘Over the last three seasons, we have spent more than any other Serie A club. Maybe we did not spend in the best way. I give myself a higher score for the money I invested than for how we spent it.’ Tare is responsible for one of those three transfer windows and, looking at this squad, it is clear which players the most money was spent on: Modrić, Athekame, Nkunku, and of course Jashari. In Genoa, he was sitting next to Cardinale: on one side him, on the other Massimo Calvelli. They will meet again to discuss the future.”
