Behind this decision there are also financial reasons, as the English club is offering him a higher salary than what the Italians are proposing, as well as a more substantial budget for the summer transfer market.

Like Iraola, he had also given his availability in recent weeks; it remains to be seen whether this will still be the case now that the club has failed to qualify for the Champions League and is in the midst of yet another overhaul.
Pochettino, who at the moment is focused solely on preparing for the World Cup that his national team will play at home, would reunite at Milan with Christian Pulisic, whom Gerry Cardinale strongly wants to keep in the squad.
