The late evening at AC Milan yesterday was shaken by statements from Rafael Leão, who effectively said goodbye to AC Milan. The Portuguese talent, Milan’s number 10, will end his spell this summer after seven seasons in which he developed significantly, helped Milan win trophies, became much loved, and more recently, precisely because of that, also heavily criticised. He will not be the only major departure; Luka Modrić, without Champions League football, and with Massimiliano Allegri and no clear project, is also heading towards leaving AC Milan. And it might not end there.

Leao says goodbye to Milan
This morning, La Gazzetta dello published the following headline, reporting Leão’s farewell remarks:
"Shock Leão. 'Milan, I’m leaving’." And also: "Rafa’s break. 'Now a new challenge'. Modrić also leaves."
Regarding Luka Modrić, an excerpt from his social media post is used in the subheading: "It didn’t end as we wanted." The subheading also suggests further departures: "And Rabiot could follow Allegri to Napoli."
