AC Milan are looking for a new technical director and the leading name is Ralf Rangnick, current head coach of Austria. “Rangnick opens the door: ‘I won’t deny it.’ Decision this week” is today’s headline in 'Gazzetta dello Sport', which reports the words spoken yesterday by the German coach during the pre-match press conference ahead of the friendly against Tunisia regarding rumours about the Rossoneri club:
“I will neither confirm nor deny. My only point of contact right now is the Austrian Football Association, there is nothing else to say.”
While in Austria there is strong confidence that Rangnick will renew his contract and remain in charge of the national team even after the World Cup, the reality, according to the 'Gazzetta dello Sport', is somewhat different, as the German coach is very impressed by the Milan proposal and is seriously considering it.
