During the usual video update on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, journalist Matteo Moretto provided an update on AC Milan, focusing not only on Ralf Rangnick but also on the names of various coaches linked in recent days to the Rossoneri bench.
Regarding Ralf Rangnick:
“There is a problem: the fluidity of the relationship between Zlatan Ibrahimović and Rangnick is not very high. Let’s say there are lingering tensions from the past, but there are also issues to resolve regarding the present. Rangnick is in discussions with the Austrian Football Federation over a contract renewal, but above all he is asking Milan for guarantees, not only sporting ones in terms of investment and budget, but also regarding personnel. He would like to enter the Milan structure with his own team, with many dual roles. A rather rigid structure, a German-style mentality, which clashes with the current reality of Milan and also with the Italian mindset. At present, the Rangnick–Milan situation is not particularly advanced. I am told it is a situation still under very close evaluation.”

On AC Milan executive Massimo Calvelli:
“He has taken Furlani’s place from a signing authority point of view. We will see whether it is on an interim basis or not. But here too, we can report that in these hours of major reflection, restructuring and discussions at Milan, there have been fairly heated face-to-face meetings between Ibrahimović and Cardinale, certainly for the good of Milan and to arrive at solutions that can be useful and beneficial for the club. At the moment, with a degree of uncertainty, tension is increasing. Ibrahimović and Cardinale, the people responsible for reorganising the organisational structure, still do not have a clear direction.”
