The negative spell for Rafael Leao continues. His interviews over recent days have broken off any remaining relationship with the AC Milan environment, with his departure now expected. Things are not going much better with the national team either. In this evening’s friendly against Chile, the 1999-born forward was sent off before the end of the first half.
Leao sent off after 47 minutes: what happened
The Portuguese player was directly involved in a brawl that broke out near the byline between Chile’s Faundez and Joao Cancelo. Leao stepped in to defend the Barcelona player and began clashing with another Chilean player, Roman. Both started raising their hands until the AC Milan player struck his opponent in the face with a slap after several pushes. The referee, Italian Zufferli, showed a red card to both players.
