The clouds that had gathered over AC Milan at the end of the last match of the season have still not cleared. On the contrary, as the days go by, the feeling is that the atmosphere surrounding the Rossoneri club has become even heavier. The decisions taken by the ownership in recent weeks have opened a phase of profound transition, but what is causing concern is not so much the departures as the absence of replacements who have already been identified and are ready to operate.

By mid-June, Milan finds itself without some of the most important figures in its organisational structure. It lacks a chief executive officer with full operational powers, a sporting director, a technical director, and above all a head coach who can begin planning for the future. This situation inevitably raises questions and risks slowing down every aspect of planning for next season, as relayed via Milan News.
The coaching issue is probably the one attracting the most attention. After weeks of rumours, assessments and contacts, the name that appears to have gained momentum is that of Oliver Glasner. The Corriere dello Sport newspaper reports this this morning. The Austrian coach comes from an extremely positive spell and has recently achieved one of the most prestigious results of his career, demonstrating that he possesses modern ideas, personality and managerial ability.
The meeting that took place in recent days certainly represents an important signal. On one hand, Milan had the opportunity to present its vision and intentions for the future. On the other, Glasner was able to outline the principles of his football and the conditions necessary for him to accept a challenge that is as prestigious as it is complex. Nevertheless, caution remains essential in this case as well.
In recent months, several candidates linked with the Rossoneri bench have expressed reservations not so much about Milan's historical stature as about the structure that is supposed to support its revival. A top-level coach does not assess only the prestige of the shirt or the size of the financial investment. He wants to know who he will be working with, who will make transfer-market decisions, what the chain of command will be, and what objectives he will be expected to achieve in the medium and long term.

Time is running for Milan...
And this is precisely the central issue. Before even deciding on the coach's name, Milan must rebuild its executive structure. Because a club without clear points of reference risks turning every decision into a longer and more complicated process than necessary. However, Glasner could accept regardless of what happens at boardroom level, and that shows how much he wants the Milan job.
The feeling is that the club is facing a decisive turning point. Time, however, is not an unlimited resource. The transfer window is approaching, pre-season preparations are drawing nearer, and every day that passes without definitive decisions reduces the club's room for manoeuvre. For this reason, the coming weeks will probably be the most important of the entire Rossoneri summer.
