Igli Tare’s time at Milan lasted less than a year and, despite a disastrous ending with failure to qualify for the Champions League and his dismissal at the end of May, the Albanian executive showed great attachment to the Rossoneri colours until the very end.
As a guest at the end-of-season dinner of the Milan Club Old Clan, Tare wanted to thank the Rossoneri supporters for the affection he received.
These were Tare's words:
“I accepted this invitation with great pleasure and honour because, when I arrived last year, the first meeting I had was with you and I immediately received what I have always loved: the love for this shirt and these colours. I feel a bit guilty because, on the final matchday, we were not able to bring Milan into the Champions League. But one thing remains: Milan is bigger than everyone."
Tare added:
"And even if it was only for a year, for me it was a great honour to work for this club and you will be in my heart wherever I go.”
