It was a magnificent Milan performance in yesterday evening's derby against Inter. Ruben Amorim's Rossoneri side managed to secure a 3-1 victory at the end of a match played with intensity, concentration and great hunger, especially in the first half. Having put the debacle against Bologna behind them, Milan finally managed to bounce back, dominating Inter with aggression and clinical finishing. It was Amorim's first derby victory against Chivu, but the statistics from this all-Rossoneri derby do not end there:
As reported by Opta, AC Milan have won four consecutive derbies against Inter across all competitions for only the fourth time in their history, following the four between 1972 and 1973, the six between 1946 and 1948, and the six between 1911 and 1913.
Furthermore, Milan have won three consecutive Serie A matches against Inter for the first time since winning four in a row between 2002 and 2004 (with Carlo Ancelotti in charge), as pointed out via Milan News.
Following their 1-0 victory in the league on 8 March, Milan have won two consecutive home matches against Inter across all competitions for the first time since May-September 2008.
