As the days go by, the situation at AC Milan appears increasingly surreal. Even more so after yesterday afternoon: the few advances made over the last three weeks have all been wiped out by Ralf Rangnick’s outright refusal. He has grown tired of waiting for a response from Gerry Cardinale regarding the conditions he had set as non-negotiable in order to take on the role of the club’s technical director.
Milan has no management structure in place, and the coaching position is also stuck in a period of stagnation: there are several names under consideration, but no serious progress has been made with any of them. And time keeps passing.
Time is running out for Milan:
This is not about being critical or anything else; it is simply a matter of looking at the facts objectively. In a couple of weeks, the transfer window opens, and in a month, pre-season training begins. Yet throughout all of this, Milan has nobody at club level to lead the organisation. An unprecedented situation.
Today, La Gazzetta dello Sport directly warns Cardinale and company: “Milan, time is running out. Rangnick pulls out and the managerial situation remains at a standstill.”
The subheading reads:
"The German steps back, with Ozek emerging as an option for sporting director. As for the coach: Glasner is waiting, while Jaissle and Amorim have Milan in their sights."
