According to reports from colleagues at 'A Bola', Ruben Amorim is now very close to becoming AC Milan’s new head coach, replacing the dismissed Massimiliano Allegri. Reports from Portugal indicate that negotiations between the Rossoneri club and the Portuguese manager are at a very advanced stage and are even close to being finalised.
After his difficult spell at Manchester United, Amorim had initially considered taking a sabbatical year, but he had never completely ruled out the possibility of returning to the dugout immediately if presented with a convincing project, as relayed via Milan News.
The Rossoneri club, even without Champions League football, could represent exactly what the former Sporting manager has been looking for. If confirmed, Amorim would become the third Portuguese coach in Milan’s recent history, following Fonseca and Conceição.
