Maurizio Pistocchi, in a post on 'X', spoke about his recent meeting with Paolo Maldini. The journalist said that he asked the former AC Milan executive whether, after making public the photos with Hakan Safi, he had already found a house on the Bosphorus. It was an ironic way of trying to confirm, or rule out, the possibility that the legendary former captain might resume a managerial role in Turkey.
According to Pistocchi, Maldini's reply was unequivocal:
"Let’s not joke. Either I return to Milan (on my terms) or nothing."
It was also a way of responding to today’s rumours linking him to a potential appointment as Technical Director of the Italian Football Federation, a role for which he is reportedly the preferred candidate of Giovanni Malagò.
