After the official announcement of Ruben Amorim’s arrival on the Milan bench, some of his former Sporting Lisbon players were immediately linked with the Rossoneri: in particular, midfielder Morten Hjulmand and forwards Francisco Trincão and Pedro Gonçalves. All three seem to be on the verge of leaving the green-and-white club, but despite this, they are not currently in the sights of the new Milan coach.
Amorim's priority:
This is reported by 'A Bola', which explains that Amorim’s priority at the moment is something else, namely carefully assessing the current Milan squad. Milan will return to Milanello on 13 July, and the Portuguese coach wants to make the most of the first weeks of training to closely evaluate the players at his disposal and see how they absorb his idea of football.
This does not mean that Hjulmand, Trincão and Gonçalves cannot become concrete transfer targets for Milan, who need reinforcements in midfield and especially in attack, where there could be several changes compared to this season. In the not-too-distant future, this scenario could also change, but for now Amorim has other priorities. This was relayed by Milan News.
