Fabrizio Romano published a video on his YouTube channel in which he spoke about the deal that brought Gonçalo Ramos to Milan:
“Gonçalo Ramos to Milan is a done deal. The player has already undergone medical examinations with Milan, which were approved by Portugal’s medical staff and sent to Milan’s staff. Ramos will sign a five-year contract that has already been approved by his agent Jorge Mendes, who travelled to Italy in complete secrecy to work on this deal.
I want to clarify the figures: on Thursday I said Milan’s offer was higher than €50 million, but in reality it is well above that. Milan have gone all in to avoid competition; the Rossoneri did not want to wait so as not to risk losing the player. There was an English club and Atlético Madrid interested in Ramos, but Milan closed the deal for a record fee: €74 million fixed plus bonuses. If those bonuses are achieved, it will surpass the €80 million mark.
This is the agreement reached between PSG, Milan under Gerry Cardinale, and Jorge Mendes. It is a historic operation for the Rossoneri from an economic point of view.
Rúben Amorim also played a key role; he arrives at Milan with the striker he wanted at Manchester United. He is a forward he personally requested. I expect Milan to do the same again, perhaps not in terms of figures, and continue to follow the Portuguese coach’s indications for other reinforcements. Milan will follow Rúben Amorim.”
