Milan have closed the deal for Gonçalo Ramos. It is a matter of fact to note that it has been years since the Rossoneri club completed a signing for a centre-forward in such a short time, let alone such an expensive operation.
The rest of the judgement, however, will as always be delivered by the pitch, which will determine whether this investment by Gerry Cardinale for the 25-year-old Portuguese player has been correct or not. Some are already raising doubts, in particular Fabio Ravezzani, director of TeleLombardia, who wonders why the same money was not spent in January when Milan under Allegri were in the top positions and only three points behind Inter.
Fabio Ravezzani's comment on the news of Milan's signing of Gonçalo Ramos, which will be officially announced shortly:
"What I do not understand about the Milan-Ramos situation is why in January, with the team in the very top positions, nothing was spent on the indispensable centre-forward, while in June Cardinale starts with a bang. Something does not add up. The important thing now will be not to sell the best players."
