Not only incoming transfer activity for Milan. The Rossoneri are beginning to plan for next season and to build the squad to be entrusted to the newly arrived Ruben Amorim. With the arrival of Gonçalo Ramos now finalised, the club owned by Cardinale must also manage players returning from loan spells. Among these, there is strong attention on Samuel Chukwueze.
The Nigerian is coming off a mixed spell at Fulham and, according to 'Daily Post Nigeria', he has rejected a move to Trabzonspor. The Turkish side had made an offer of around 15 million euros for the winger, but he is said to have turned down the opportunity. The former Villarreal player wants to test himself at Milan, aware that his profile fits well with the characteristics Amorim is looking for in his wide attackers. Operating from a 3-4-2-1 system, the Nigerian could be used among the two players who operate behind the striker, and therefore prove useful to the cause, more so than under previous managers who have sat on the Milan bench. Although starting as a second-choice option, Chukwueze intends to stay at least for pre-season and try to convince the new Rossoneri coach, as relayed via Calcio Mercato.
The first offer for him has therefore been rejected, but it is not to be ruled out that further bids may arrive and that Milan themselves could push for his departure. After all, the player was not part of the club’s plans, so much so that mid-season it seemed Fulham were willing to make his move permanent, potentially bringing 26 million euros into the Rossoneri’s coffers, a tempting figure for Milan. Last season, between Serie A and the Premier League, the 1999-born player made 26 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists, too few to convince Fulham, but enough to interest Trabzonspor. However, at least for now, the player has said no.
