AC Milan continue their search for a new central defender as the Rossoneri look to strengthen the defensive unit available to manager Ruben Amorim. According to Gianluca Di Marzio during his regular appearance on Calciomercato – L'Originale, Milan have made a strong move to join the race for Lazio defender Mario Gila. Here is what he said.
"AC Milan have made a strong move for Mario Gila, Lazio's central defender. Napoli moved well in advance and have worked to reach a verbal agreement with the player, but they have not yet reached an agreement with Lazio, who are asking for €30 million despite him having only one year left on his contract. This is because Lazio must pay 50% of any future transfer fee to Real Madrid."
"Over the past few hours, Milan have entered the race in a serious way. They have been in contact with the player's agent, and there are no issues regarding the player's contract. We will see whether Milan submit an offer to Lazio in an attempt to beat Napoli to the signing. One thing is certain: Milan are now firmly in the race for Mario Gila."
