The Italian newspaper Quotidiano Sportivo ran the following headline in this morning's print edition:
"Milan-Modrić: Amorim pushing for a contract renewal”

As per the latest report, new coach Ruben Amorim, is personally working to persuade Luka Modrić to remain at Milan for another year. The Croatian midfielder, who is currently a free agent after his contract expired on 30 June, is expected to make a final decision about his future in the coming days.
Following Croatia’s elimination from the World Cup, Modrić began discussing his future with his family, weighing up whether to stay and play at least one more season with Milan or to retire from football and begin a new chapter in his career. The prevailing expectation is that the Croatian will soon announce his intention to continue his spell with the Rossoneri.
