Tuttosport ran the following headline regarding Zlatan Ibrahimovic's presence within the AC Milan project.
"Ibrahimovic out? For Gerry he is a pillar"
The Swede, who has also been at the centre of Milan fans’ protests in recent weeks, is viewed by the club’s ownership as a valuable adviser and an extraordinary ambassador for the Rossoneri club around the world.
“It is true that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has invested in RedBird, but at the same time it is the Swede who works with and for Gerry Cardinale, not the other way around. The hierarchy is clear, firm and leaves no room for deviations of any kind. In Cardinale’s vision and conviction, Ibrahimovic has very high value. It is no secret, as we reported here on Tuttosport between the end of May and the beginning of June, that Gerry sees Zlatan as someone to whom he can try to pass on his knowledge and entrepreneurial experience. He sees him as a protégé to be developed within a field in which, for years, Cardinale has been able to achieve great results," wrote the Italian newspaper.
