Before the World Cup began, and also for almost the entire duration of the tournament, Ederson was widely expected to join Manchester United. The Atalanta midfielder was ready to move to England and join the Red Devils for a fee of around €40 million. In recent days, however, the deal has collapsed, with the team coached by Michael Carrick deciding to withdraw from the negotiations. Ederson, disappointed by his World Cup experience, will initially return to Zingonia while waiting to find out whether or not he will leave.
This morning, Tuttosport identified Ederson as a possible new signing for Giovanni Carnevali’s newly formed Juventus project. At the same time, however, it reported that Milan are also monitoring the Brazilian midfielder. The headline reads:
"The Ederson saga intrigues Carnevali. And Milan are stepping forward."
The newspaper also wrote: "The Brazilian was rejected by United at the final stage. Atalanta have no concerns regarding his physical condition: Giuntoli is still asking for €50 million. New contacts between Juve and Kessié."
