Former Rossoneri player Daniele Bonera was interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport to briefly discuss Milan, their Scudetto chances and the problems currently facing the club. Here is what he had to say:
“Personally, I believe that, as things stand, Milan are a step behind the other teams in the Scudetto race and cannot win the league because they lack proper planning. In three years, they have changed four coaches and I don't even know how many players. Every coach has brought different formations and ideas. Until there is a serious managerial and sporting project in place from the foundations upwards, it will be difficult to compete for the Scudetto. Anything can happen in football, but as things stand, I believe Milan are still a long way from the top.”
On the final weeks of the transfer window, Bonera commented:
“Of course, as a former Rossoneri player, I hope I am wrong, and I hope the team will be further strengthened during the final three weeks of the transfer window. Certainly, there are problems within the squad at the moment that were already there last season.”
