Milan have surprisingly completed another major signing, investing more than €50 million: Diego Moreira is arriving from Strasbourg. The 2004-born player is a Belgium international and a teammate of Koni De Winter and Alexis Saelemaekers.

As reported by Corriere della Sera this morning, the deal was personally handled by Gerry Cardinale, who once again wanted to grant Ruben Amorim’s wish, with the Milan coach a huge admirer of the young Belgian talent.
The Portuguese coach particularly appreciates Moreira’s versatility, as he can play in several positions. In Milan’s 3-4-2-1 system, Moreira can operate both as a left-sided midfielder and as an attacking midfielder. The Belgian was also wanted by other clubs, but Cardinale’s decisive move and the involvement of the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, ultimately made the difference.
