In his editorial for Sportitalia, journalist Alfredo Pedullà discussed the transfer market activity of the major Italian clubs:
"Napoli have signed the centre-back they were looking for, Badiashile. Milan are a tornado: Cardinale does not think about selling, unlike others who need to sell before opening the vault. He has changed strategy, putting eye-watering figures on the table and getting deals over the line. Moreira is on his way to becoming one of the revelations of the season; it would be surprising if he did not make a difference. Inter are sounding out Jones, and the squad is already outstanding as it is, but another big market statement would certainly not be unwelcome. Gasperini finally got Mora after an endless puzzle, and now he hopes to convince the owners to sign Malick Fofana, perhaps in a week, once Lyon’s Champions League commitments are behind them."
"Now it would be right to draw a line under Guglielmo Vicario. Simply because there is no going back: the decision has already been made, and continuing to debate it would not make much sense. Vicario is a good goalkeeper, one might even say a very good one, to avoid doing him a disservice. Inter would have signed him a few years ago had they sold Onana in time, but that situation did not materialise. At that point, the Friuli-born goalkeeper decided to leave Empoli and move to London to join Spurs. And he certainly has no reason to regret it, because his first year was very good, before he entered a period of obscurity that can happen even at the best football clubs."
"But a thousand other things will happen, right up until the final second of Tuesday, 1 September. A classic, as it has been for years."
