Milan’s summer transfer window continues to produce new developments and interesting updates during what has been a long and eventful summer market. The 2026/27 Serie A season is now just around the corner, with Ruben Amorim's Rossoneri set to face Torino away from home on Sunday evening, with Ignazio Abate in charge of the hosts. Alongside matters on the pitch, the transfer market remains a major talking point, with developments both regarding potential arrivals and possible departures.
Fabrizio Romano discussed an intriguing behind-the-scenes story on his YouTube channel:
“The Milan-Barcelona connection, which as things stand does not appear to be particularly significant, may be linked to an interesting behind-the-scenes development. The name in question is Alejandro Balde, the Barcelona left-back, who is not considered completely untouchable at the moment. They are well covered in that position, especially with Cancelo returning, and Mendes therefore offered Balde to Milan. The Rossoneri’s response at the moment is no, because they do not want to make such a significant investment in that position, above €40 million. I would not rule out the possibility that, following this meeting, Milan could reconsider keeping Estupiñán. The situation surrounding the Ecuadorian could therefore change.”
