Gianluca Di Marzio, speaking on “Caffè Di Marzio”, the podcast produced in collaboration between TuttoMercatoWeb.com and Gianlucadimarzio.com, provided an update on the future of Rafael Leao, who has emerged as a target for Aston Villa in recent hours. If the Portuguese forward leaves during the final days of the summer transfer window, the Rossoneri will look to sign a new attacking midfielder who can add quality to Ruben Amorim’s squad.
Di Marzio said:
“And then Milan will obviously be keeping a close eye on the prospects and opportunities involving a young player, someone who could become a sort of new No. 10 for the future. It is true that Cissé is progressing very quickly, but clearly, with Leao’s departure, should it happen, Milan will enter the final days of the transfer window looking for a player who can raise the quality level of Amorim’s team.”
As Di Marzio writes on his website, "in recent hours, the idea of Kaoru Mitoma from Brighton had emerged: a profile that appeals to Cardinale but who, due to his age (29), physical condition and position, does not represent the ideal investment for the Rossoneri’s sporting project. It will therefore not be the Japanese winger, but the management are ready to invest in a quality player who can take over from Leao."
