Was the UEFA Europa League draw one that could have gone better?
“I’ve never looked at a draw as favourable or unfavourable. What’s important is being aware that we have made a good start to the season, despite the absence of my Captain, with whom I always used to come here to Monte Carlo. Even more so this year, the team must show a sense of belonging by wearing the shirt with an awareness of the objectives we have, namely to win both in Italy and in Europe. Then, if someone proves to be better than us, as Amorim always says, congratulations to them. However, since he arrived, Amorim has made it clear that he understands what Milan is all about, and he has made the right choices to create a top-level environment. He deserves respect; I have nothing to teach him.”
Who does Amorim remind you of?
“From the time I have spent with him, I would say he is a very polite and respectful person. He has understood that the most important thing is to build a strong group, believing in the objective set by the club. I have to say that tactically, from the few training sessions I have watched, he reminds me of Arrigo Sacchi, while off the pitch, in terms of his personal relationships, he reminds me of Fabio Capello.”
