In this morning's print edition, Tuttosport, shared the following headline:
"Modric, Amorim’s dilemma"
In fact, the Croatian appeared to be struggling badly at the Olimpico in the 2-2 draw against Lazio, and was therefore substituted at half-time. The question is how Modric can and should be used within the system adopted by his coach, which, unlike the Milan side under Allegri, does not feature two central midfielders shielding the former Real Madrid player.
This is the question posed by the Turin-based newspaper, which suggests that, at present, the best solution for him could be to bring him on during matches, when opponents are more tired. This is also because Modric is not yet at the peak of his physical condition, meaning that his difficulties in coping with the intense style of football demanded by Amorim are even greater.
