According to SportItalia, Gerry Cardinale is reportedly working on developing a multi-club ownership model in which Milan could serve as one of its main reference points. For this reason, RedBird chief Gerry Cardinale is said to have held preliminary and indirect contacts in an attempt to acquire Al Nassr, the Saudi Arabian club that is also home to former Rossoneri player Joao Felix, Coman, Mané and, above all, Cristiano Ronaldo.
SportItalia's website specifies that "at the moment, however, it is important to stress that this is not a deal that is close to completion. The contacts have been indirect and the situation appears difficult.” The potential acquisition of Al Nassr is one of the opportunities Cardinale is considering, alongside other options, as part of RedBird’s plans to expand its football network.
During the summer, Cardinale became increasingly convinced of the need to develop a multi-club ownership model that could have Milan as a key, and above all central, reference point. The aim is to create greater synergies between the clubs belonging to the RedBird group, making use of shared expertise, facilities and knowledge. The model would therefore not be limited to simply having the different clubs under the same ownership, but would seek to build more concrete collaboration on both the sporting and organisational fronts.
