Fabrizio Biasin, a journalist, spoke to 'Cronache di Spogliatoio' about Milan fans’ reaction to the defeat against Benfica:
"In the summer when you decide to change manager and go from a coach who does one particular thing to one who does the exact opposite, you need to build a different squad and expand it to compete in European competitions as well," as relayed via Milan News.
Who should you entrust all of this to? What is the most important thing to do? Sign the striker, of course, but the absolute priority is to have a sporting director capable of managing this phase. If Milan leaves this job to the owner together with a football agent, the most natural consequence in the world is that you end up with a mishmash. To me, what Amorim said, or did not say, before the match seems to be the absolute truth: he does not have a squad at his disposal that is suited to his style of football. Milan’s alternatives are not at the level of the roles they are expected to fill. If you look at the biggest teams, even just in Italy, they have all tried to close the gap between the top starter and the alternative. Roma have done it, Inter have done it, Como have done it; and in my opinion, they have done it well. I do not see that at Milan: the starter has a certain value, while the alternative is behind him, and by quite a distance."
