All things considered, Ruben Amorim’s Milan have made a more than positive start. At the first sign of trouble, the first difficulty or the first crack in the project, they were questioned without anyone lifting a finger to support them. To build a winning Milan, the club needs time, but also a strong squad that can retain its most important players. That is why, according to MilanNews.it, the Rossoneri want to finalise contract renewals for Christian Pulisic and Adrien Rabiot before the winter transfer window.
The American's current contract expires in 2027, with the club holding an option to extend it for another year, while the French midfielder's deal runs until June 2028. Milan's firm intention is to continue together and provide stability to this new sporting project, with the aim of reaching new agreements before the end of 2026.
In Pulisic's case, the club reportedly have an option to extend his contract until 2028, but they do not want to simply exercise it in order to avoid any misunderstandings with the player and prevent a situation similar to the unpleasant one that developed between Giroud and Chelsea in the past. Reaching an agreement that satisfies all parties is the priority.
With Rabiot, the timeline can be somewhat more relaxed, but there are already ongoing discussions with Veronique, the midfielder's mother and agent. The plan for him, too, is to reach an agreement by the end of 2026.
Both players have already shown, despite not being at their physical best at the start of the season, that they are fundamental to Amorim's system in terms of their understanding of their roles, level of performance and effectiveness in front of goal. Rabiot has scored twice, while Pulisic has one goal and one assist. Milan want to continue with both players and are working on their renewals.
