“Cisse puts himself in the spotlight for Baldini. Goals are flowing in the Italy Under-21 team in Rossoneri colours."
On Thursday, Silvio Baldini's Italy Under-21 team won 15-0 in a friendly against Empoli Primavera.
All three Milan players called up found the net: one goal each for Francesco Camarda and Davide Bartesaghi, and a hat-trick for Alphadjo Cisse, who has also confirmed at international level that he is in excellent form at the start of the season.
Here is the match report published by the FIGC website: “At the training camp in Tirrenia, Italy got a taste of match action today (Thursday, ed.) in a friendly against Empoli Primavera, winning 15-0. For Baldini, who lined up Italy in the classic 4-3-3 formation, the team provided some positive indications. In the first half, the Azzurrini opened the scoring in the 14th minute through Cichella, assisted by Berti, before doubling their lead in the 29th minute through Berti himself, this time with an individual effort. Three minutes later, Camarda also got on the scoresheet, assisted by the newly introduced Liberali (who came on for Berti in the 30th minute), while in the 40th minute Cichella scored his second of the game following Liberali's second assist in less than 10 minutes. In the second half, Baldini rotated his players, giving playing time to those who had remained on the bench during the opening 45 minutes. Three minutes after the restart, the score became 5-0 through an own goal by Lesiewicz, before Faticanti made it 6-0 in the 55th minute after winning the ball high up the pitch. Bartesaghi and Favasuli, who came on in the second half, both scored in the 65th and 69th minutes respectively, following individual efforts, and from 8-0 onwards the Azzurrini continued to find the net. Fini (75th minute), Cisse twice (78th and 80th), Calvani with a brace (83rd and 86th), Faticanti (88th minute) and Cisse again (89th) completed the final scoreline of 15-0.”
