Alexis Saelemaekers will travel to Amsterdam on Monday for a final consultation with Professor Gino Kerkhoffs regarding his right ankle, which he injured during training on September 29, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition.
Unless he receives positive news, he will undergo surgery performed by Kerkhoffs himself. The specialist successfully treated Santiago Giménez’s ankle in December 2025 and is considered one of Europe’s leading experts in ankle and foot surgery of this kind.

Saelemaekers will be sidelined for at least four months.
The news is more encouraging for Estupiñán, who suffered a knee injury while on international duty with Ecuador. If there are no setbacks, he will return to training today, with the full squad reunited following the return of all the international players. He could be available for the match in Reggio Emilia.
Meanwhile, Amorim spoke to DAZN:
“The objective is to win every match, and we must try to do so while playing well. We’ll assess everything at the end of the season. That’s the mentality Milan must have. So far, everything has gone well, and I’m happy to be here. I feel a great responsibility to help this club return to where it belongs. Gonçalo Ramos? He’ll score plenty of goals.”
