After Napoli-Roma ended 3-3, with the home side complaining about the Giallorossi’s third goal, Max Allegri was the protagonist of an incident, as revealed by Corriere dello Sport. After his interviews with DAZN and before the press conference, he let slip a remark that probably also says something about his nervousness:
"Last year, they put Champions League qualification in their pocket. Always the same people... I paid the price for it with Milan."
The reference is clearly to the end of last season, when the Rossoneri missed out on Champions League qualification at the expense of Como and Roma.
Speaking to DAZN, he then let out his frustration over the red card he received towards the end of the match: "Every time I move away from the bench, I get sent off. From now on, I’ll stay seated and won’t move any more. There are others who come onto the pitch and turn everything upside down, but nothing: I move once and get sent off. Last year, I was fined €80,000…," as relayed via Milan News.
