Speaking on Radio Serie A, former midfielder Massimo Ambrosini commented on Milan's loss to Napoli last night:

"The Rossoneri didn’t play a bad game against Napoli, especially in the first half. However, they showed some signs of defensive fragility again and were less decisive than Napoli in the final 20 meters. In the second half, Fonseca's team performance waned a bit, leaving some question marks around this Milan. Meanwhile, Conte’s team, on the other hand, already looks like a complete unit."

Ambrosini also said:

"What Milan lacked in the first part of the season was a certain team spirit. Yesterday, they fought back after Lukaku’s goal, but now some choices have to be made. On the first goal, the two central defenders were not well-positioned: Fonseca now needs to settle on two central defenders; he can’t keep rotating them every game. Gabbia, who was out yesterday due to injury, has become the most reliable center-back… That said, Milan is starting to lose a few too many points."

On Rafael Leao's exclusion from Milan's starting lineup against Napoli:

"Playing Leao yesterday would have meant putting Okafor as the playmaker. If the first time he was benched was a signal, yesterday’s was a technical decision. But in the long term, you can’t think of doing without Leao. He certainly needs to help himself too. A solution needs to be found to avoid giving the boy another excuse: when the team’s strongest player is left out, it’s a signal. Now there’s Monza and Real Madrid coming up, so a way to reintegrate him needs to be found.
