Fonseca’s season is a roller coaster – The coach is frustrated after some individual players’ performances

We are like a roller coaster here, Paolo Fonseca had said after the victory against Red Star.

Milan, accomplice to a management still, perhaps, not well defined in roles, with constant changes, see the D'Ottavio situation, is experiencing just another roller-coaster season.

The coach has lashed out at some individuals. Fonseca's discontent goes back a long way: he had not particularly appreciated the return of some players who had played the European Cup.

The application from the start had not been the best, as shown by the early league results, see Torino, Lazio, and Parma. But that Milan was just beginning and the head coach had preferred not to raise questions.

Against Lazio, that famous Leao and Theo episode had angered Fonseca for the first time that he would have expected a gesture, a meaningful intervention by the club. There wasn't. From there the first discontent was born. The coach handled that situation almost single-handedly with the help of Ibrahimovic who was one of the first to have talks with the players.

The Fonseca method then solved the Leao case, because let's face it after that initial discontent the Portuguese winger is now at the center of Milan and he is a player who is playing very well, even in his attitudes Leao is always proving to be impeccable. Hernandez's application, on the other hand, has not improved

Then Fonseca tried to push him on by declaring a few weeks ago that Theo was the best fullback in the World. He did this in one of the Frenchman's worst moments. After those words, the coach expected more from the Frenchman, but the change did not happen. Although Fonseca initially rotated the captain's armband now, again in more games, it is worn by Theo Hernandez. This did not change things either, so it came down to the “clash.”

In fact, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the coach had another talk with the player yesterday.
The other cases, on the other hand, concern players used to playing more in the past years: Calabria, Tomori and Loftus. The former has a difficult situation because he will not renew his contract, also because he has become a second choice, right in the year of his contract expiration. Tomori and Loftus also hardly ever play, and when they did play they offered disappointing performances. Especially Tomori when he has played has always made questionable mistakes, such as in Florence, to top it off with the caution with disqualification the other day while he was not on the field.

All these situations were handled mainly by Fonseca who reported to the managers but never had, and the statements show this, full support in sharing what action to take. In some cases the coach felt too alone. Some players are not used to self-management; they had always had field figures of reference, every day, almost every moment before and after practice. That said, these days we are all a little more Fonseca. The coach had been very well received by the fans and he is not getting great results, but he is trying to put Milan in front all the time, trying to recover several players. He would need help.

These situations in the past were dealt with and handled better at Milan.

Then to see meaningless social posts, especially these days, from RedBird's top manager, does not help. Of course, Milan is not doing badly because of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's posts. But no one was used to this kind of communication and management where there seems to be no real field management team. And in fact so far this has led to nothing.
