Cafu, the former AC Milan full-back, is convinced that the Rossoneri can still get back into the race for the Scudetto:
"There's no doubt I expected more from both Milan and Roma. However, there's still more than half the season left, and for me, the Rossoneri can rejoin the race, especially if they win tonight," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Brazilian continued:
"I think Milan has a squad capable of winning. They have very strong players like Leao, Reijnders, Theo, Maignan, Morata, and others. They achieved great victories against Inter and Real Madrid, and that couldn't have been a coincidence. If anything, the issue is something else—consistency. It's all about mentality. Tactically, the coach's work is evident, but sometimes the right attitude has been lacking. And it's no coincidence that, even in a period when Milan fans are very critical, Fonseca is not under fire. He deserves time and trust."
What happened to Theo Hernandez? Cafu replied:
"That's hard to say. From the outside, it seems more a mental issue than a physical one, similar to what happened to Leao a couple of months ago. Could he have struggled with the transition from Pioli to Fonseca? Not at all. We're talking about top professionals. A coaching change can't justify a wrong attitude. Hernandez and Leao are among the best in Italy—they just need to step onto the pitch with the right mindset, and the rest will follow naturally."
