Arrigo Sacchi, former AC Milan coach, gave a long interview to Il Resto del Carlino, in which he spoke not only about his years with the Rossoneri but also about his time as Italy’s national team manager. His thoughts inevitably returned to the 1994 World Cup final in the United States, where the Azzurri lost to Brazil on penalties.

Here are his words:
"They sent us to a training camp where it was impossible to train—unbearable humidity and temperatures. The Brazilians were staying in the northwest, in a much more livable place. The same goes for Sweden, which, not by chance, crushed Bulgaria 4-0 in the third-place match."
Sacchi added:
"I asked myself why we were sent there and came to a conclusion: that national team had me, it had many Milan players, and therefore, it had Berlusconi. Maybe a lot of people were afraid that Silvio would win that World Cup..."
