Milan’s transfer strategy has been rather unusual...
After spending a month searching for a new head coach and sporting director (who ultimately never even arrived), the Rossoneri opted to immediately complete their two most important signings: striker Ramos and defender Gila, exactly the reinforcements they desperately needed, as pointed out via Milan News.
From that point onwards, apart from the signing of Diawara as a prospect for the future, everything has ground to a halt, not only in terms of incoming transfers, but also departures. As a result, Milan now find themselves needing to make several sales, either on permanent deals or loan moves, with very little time remaining.
In light of this situation, Gerry Cardinale’s decision to arrive in Italy tomorrow for a transfer summit with Ruben Amorim is even more understandable, as pointed out via Milan News. A clear plan of action needs to be drawn up because, alongside the many departures, it would also be good to bring the coach a few more reinforcements, especially in areas where clear weaknesses have emerged during the friendly matches.
In fact, the Turin-based newspaper, Tuttosport, ran the following headline this morning:
"Many topics will be on the table during the summit between Cardinale and Amorim, against the backdrop of a pre-season that has raised many doubts."
It then added: "To facilitate the departures, the club must soften its stance." One of the disadvantages of leaving things until the last minute, as Milan are doing, is that when it comes to certain matters, you end up with your hands tied.
