Milan seems to have shifted gears in recent weeks after Sergio Conceição decided to change the formation and switch to a 3-4-3.
"Strength and goals, checkmate in one move"

That is the headline of today's Corriere dello Sport, which explains that with this new system of play, the Rossoneri team is definitely more solid defensively and more prolific in attack (four goals against Udinese, three against Inter, and two against Venezia).
The formation change has also benefited several players: among them are certainly Alex Jimenez and Theo Hernandez, who now have fewer defensive duties and can focus more on pushing forward.
Strahinja Pavlovic and Fikayo Tomori also seem to perform better in a three-man defense. The qualities of Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana have also been highlighted, as they are no longer "abandoned" in the middle of the field, but now have greater protection.
