This morning, Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Massimiliano Allegri intends to build a Milan side ready in both spirit and pedigree—two factors that were lacking last season. For this reason, the new Rossoneri coach wants to rely on experienced and dependable players who can accompany him in this new chapter, where the goal is to bring Milan back to competing not only for Serie A but also for the Champions League.

Tijjani Reijnders, Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez, and Mike Maignan. These are just a few of the names who could leave Milan during this transfer window. We're talking about strong players, champions, who have written recent chapters in the club's history. A real revolution is underway at Milanello, but some cornerstones need to be established. On this front, Allegri has been clear: the team must first be strengthened in leadership and mentality. That’s why Milan are pushing hard for Luka Modric. Turning 40 in September, with a boundless trophy cabinet, charisma, and experience to spare, the Croatian would serve as the spiritual leader of the squad, supported by other seasoned players to try to win immediately—such as Adrien Rabiot.

The Frenchman is a loyal follower of Massimiliano Allegri, who reportedly mentioned his name to sporting director Igli Tare. Currently at Marseille, Rabiot is a seasoned midfielder who knows Allegri’s ideas and Serie A very well. In other words, a ready-made option who could prove extremely valuable, especially in the locker room—where last season, too many reference points were missing.
