According to what has been learned by those at the Italy-based website Milan News, the Rossoneri club management is close to selling Mike Maignan to Chelsea. The gap between the asking price and the offer remains, but the feeling is that in the end the parties could reach a definitive agreement at a figure that would satisfy all parties involved.
To avoid being caught unprepared, Milan has already begun evaluating alternatives to the French shotstopper, with Mile Svilar being the name that has the approval of everyone at Milanello. In addition to the 25-year-old Serbian, however, Igli Tare is reportedly also considering other options, such as 21-year-old Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki of Parma—also targeted by Napoli—and 23-year-old Italian Elia Caprile of Cagliari.
