The summer transfer market promises to be red-hot, and among the names that could ignite negotiations is that of Rodrigo De Paul. The Argentine midfielder of Atlético Madrid, with a contract expiring in 2026 and a renewal that is far from guaranteed, is at the center of several rumors linking him to Milan as well. The news is reported by Mundo Deportivo, which outlines a complex situation for the Colchoneros. Atlético Madrid finds itself in a very delicate position. Having paid €35 million for De Paul at the time, the current transfer window represents the best opportunity to cash in on his sale, given the approaching contract expiration and the currently stalled renewal talks.

From Italy, the rumors are growing increasingly persistent, with Milan (alongside Inter) among the clubs most interested in the midfielder. De Paul’s current market value is around €25 million—a figure that, while high, could still fall within Milan's parameters.

Alongside the Rossoneri’s interest, Galatasaray has also emerged. The Turkish club is reportedly considering De Paul as a possible replacement for Mario Lemina, who has been linked to Al-Shabab FC in Saudi Arabia. However, it remains unclear whether Galatasaray is actually in a position to afford such a significant investment, as relayed via PianetaMilan.it.

De Paul’s performances—particularly those shown in the recent Club World Cup—have not lived up to expectations. His displays against PSG, Botafogo, and Seattle were below par, with substitutions always occurring before the 65th minute. This could push Atlético to seriously consider his departure.

For Milan, the arrival of De Paul would represent an addition of quality and experience—a player capable of dictating the tempo in midfield and with a marked ability to make runs into the box. It remains to be seen whether the Rossoneri can overcome the competition and seal what would be a major signing for their midfield.
