Former Czech Republic striker Pavel Kuka, now the agent of Patrik Schick, spoke exclusively to the microphones of MilanNews.it regarding the future of the Bayer Leverkusen striker, whose name has also been linked to Milan during this transfer window.
On the chances of Patrik Schick returning to Italy as early as this summer, with Milan following him:
"In football, anything can happen. But slowly: Patrik still has a two-year contract with Leverkusen. We’ll see what happens in the future. Even though everything is possible. Personally, I consider a departure this summer to be difficult because Leverkusen has already sold many players. From a sporting point of view, it would be a hard blow if, in addition to the players who have already left (Wirtz, Xhaka, Tah, and Frimpong, editor’s note), the club were also to sell one of the strongest remaining in the squad like Schick."
Dusan Vlahovic is Allegri’s first choice. But is Milan really keeping an eye on your client Patrik Schick?
"Yes, even though in football there are always many rumors. It’s true that there are a couple of clubs that would like him. It’s just my opinion, but Patrik is one of the strongest players in the world at the moment. Just think about his average per minutes played, and all of that without taking penalties. If he had, perhaps today he’d have more goals to his name than Kane, Haaland, and Lewandowski. Patrik is a complete and... underrated striker."
But could Milan afford him?
"I think so."
Would he give up the Champions League to come to a Milan without European cups?
"He would like to go to Milan, no matter when. And then, for the Rossoneri, having a player like the current Patrik Schick would be a major coup. For a player of his undeniable quality, the transfer fee is not expensive."
The strongest players in the world play almost all in the Premier League, with the exception of Real, Barça, PSG, and Saudi Arabia. Why has Schick never been chased by the big English clubs?
"Anything can happen… he was already in talks with Manchester United in the past. But the sporting side is decisive, and at Bayer Leverkusen, he fought for and won the Bundesliga, adding the German Cup. There he won the Double... coming one step away from the Treble. And at the BayArena, he also plays in the Champions League… the money from the transfer and the salary aren’t everything. That said, I don’t rule out a move to Milan this summer."
